This notice covers the Local Intelligence OS extension for Google Chrome. It adds to our privacy policy at /legal/privacy.
What the extension reads
- The address (URL) of your current tab, and only when you ask. The extension learns it when you click its toolbar icon or the Check this tab button. It uses Chrome's "active tab" permission for this, which ends when you leave the site.
- Nothing from the pages themselves. The extension has no content scripts, does not read page text, forms, cookies or your browsing history, and reads nothing from Google Maps or search results.
What it sends, and where
- The address of the current tab, to the workspace address you entered when connecting (your Local Intelligence OS installation), to look the website up in your workspace.
- The actions you take in the side panel: saving a business as a prospect, starting an audit, signing out.
- Nothing goes to us as the developer of the extension, to advertisers or to any other third party. The extension contains no analytics and no remote code.
What it stores in the browser
- The workspace address, the name of the workspace and your email address, so the panel can show which account it uses.
- An access token issued when you approved the connection. Only a hash of it is kept on the server. It expires after 180 days and ends at once when you disconnect, when a workspace admin disconnects your browser, or when you leave the workspace.
Permissions it asks for
- Side panel: to show its view next to the page.
- Active tab: to read the address of the tab you clicked the icon on.
- Storage: to remember the connection described above.
- Access to your workspace address: requested when you click Connect, for that one address only, so the extension can talk to your workspace.
Use of the information
The information is used only to show you what your workspace knows about a website and to carry out the actions you choose. It is not sold, not used for advertising and not used to determine creditworthiness. Its use complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing it
Click Disconnect in the side panel, or disconnect the browser under Settings, Integrations, then remove the extension in chrome://extensions. Data in your workspace is handled under the privacy policy.
